Fast and Furious – unabashed arrogance puts Obama in a tight spot; but is it better than the alternative for POTUS?

For those readers who watch MSNBC, NBC, CBS, or CNN, you may not be familiar with the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, in addition to countless others, by weapons provided directly from the U.S. Government (specifically the ATF–“Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms”) to Mexican drug cartels and other vagrants. The operation, coined internally by the U.S. Government as operation “Fast and Furious”, was presumably orchestrated in border States like Arizona and Texas to facilitate crime scenes where murder weapons would be traced to U.S. firearms salesmen thereby providing the Obama Administration fabricated evidence that Americans’ coveted 2nd Amendment rights (the right to bear arms) to be indirectly responsible for Mexican drug cartel and other U.S./Mexico Border related violence.

Obama is in a tight spot because…..
the media (not including MSNBC and NBC who have all but ignored the Fast and Furious scandal as a political smear fabricated by Republicans) is reporting a grand illusion fabricated by the U.S. Government in order to persuade public sentiment in the ever present battle over 2nd Amendment rights. A U.S. Border Patrolman was killed and crime scene analysis revealed the scheme along with the suspected politicking to the worst degree. Most of the facts concerning the Fast and Furious operation, along with its purpose, timeline and details, is for the most part discovered and established as fact.

The recent news surrounding Attorney General Holder’s failure to comply with a Congressional Investigative Committee, led by Rep. Darrell Issa, is not focused at this time on the facts and mechanics of the Fast and Furious scandal but rather who is responsible for authorizing the operation. Atty. Gen. Holder and the Justice Department mislead Rep. Issa’s Congressional Committee in a February 4, 2011 letter from Holder to the Committee that denied the Justice Department had any involvement with Fast & Furious. That 2/4/2011 letter remained on the record as fact for nearly twelve (12) months. Only after emails and interdepartmental correspondence produced by the Justice Department in response to the Congressional Committee were vetted by said Committee, did Holder admit to being aware of the operation.

The Justice Department then retracted the 2/4/11 letter and began to provide communication requested by the Committee. The Committee is at this time tasked to find out when Holder knew about Fast & Furious and to what extent he was involved, etc. The Justice Department was not quick to respond to Congress’ requests for information, so the Committee was forced to file a subpoena formally requiring Holder to provide the relevant correspondence.

On 6/19/2012, one day prior to the Committee’s vote to recommend to the whole House of Representatives to hold Holder in Contempt of Congress for failing to provide the information demanded in the subpoena, Holder sent an eight (8) page letter to Obama requesting that The President declare Executive Privilege over the withheld documents. Executive Privilege was granted to the incredible surprise of the Committee, Congress, and the American People.

The following is Rep. Issa’s letter, dated June 25, 2012, to the President of the United States of America regarding the unsubstantiated declaration of Executive Privilege over the Justice Department’s Fast & Furious documentation and correspondence:
